We were contracted to carry out an audacious project for Stonemarket - one of the UK's foremost paving brands.
Our task was to build 14 unique paving and garden areas for their display area in the Midland.
In addition to the patios and gardens we built a central walkway through the display area constructed with 23 different types of block paving laid in different patterns.
This project served as a test of our attention to detail, as not only did we have to please Stonemarket our client but also deliver each garden to a level of workmanship and finish that would impress their customers also. This was a complex job that needed to be built to a very high standard.
The drawing below shows the plan of the display area and the uniqueness of the designs we had to produce for each garden.
The work entailed is much more than what can be seen on the surface. Setting proper foundations is important not only for the durability of any landscaping, but good foundations are also required for the inclusion of any plant life.
The photo to the right shows the footings for the sub-terrainium walls at an early stage of development - the concrete base is set below the level of the walling about to be laid.
This base is important as it not only provides a solid foundation for the wall, preventing plants from rooting into the stonework, but also sets aside a proper bed of soil for the plant life, so plants can legitimately set root within their contained area.

The project took two months to complete in total but we treated each patio and garden as if they were they were the patios and gardens of 14 individual people. We aim to bring this care and attention to each and every of our projects today.
